Yoga Classes For All Levels

These classes are designed to provide a complete system for the body and mind for new comers to Yoga and regular practitioners. Yoga works holistically and assists in keeping the whole body in radiant health. This leads to an increased sense of well-being and relaxation, benefiting the body and mind and allowing life to flow with greater ease.

Whatever your incentive to practise Yoga, whether you want to achieve a more flexible, stronger and more toned body or for relaxation the combination of postures and breathing will deliver many positive benefits.

The All Levels classes are structured around a programme of basic Hatha Yoga. This consists of a sequence of postures that exercise all the parts of the body. The postures (asanas) stretch and tone the muscles, joints and spine. In addition to delivering an improvement in suppleness and flexibility it exercises and tones the internal organs, glands and nervous system.

The teachers explain the purpose of the postures and make sure that each student is executing them properly giving advice and adjustment where appropriate.

Another part of the class is the focus on breath – this helps to reconnect with the art of proper breathing which is an essential element in Yoga and for life. A breath is the first and last thing we do and so is the most vital process of the body. It affects the functioning of each and every cell and will enhance physical health and mental well-being. This is because becoming aware of our breath and breathing patterns is intimately linked with the performance of the brain, our levels of vitality and ability to resist and recover from disease and injury.

At the end of the class, after the sequence of postures and breathing exercises, when the mind is stilled and the body relaxed there is a period of final relaxation which for may feels more effective than hours of restless sleep.
